No doubt one of the most prominent and popular of the white varieties, the Chardonnay grape is sometimes referred to as the Queen of the whites. In our quest to develop representative wines of San Rafael’s terroir and to maintain a high standard of quality and optimal ripening fruit, our winery harvests this Chardonnay in the first days of March. This results in optimal ripening of the fruit, which creates a wine of excellent quality.
The Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc are two noble grapes handcrafted by Algodon to produce an outstanding wine. We use the Charmat-Martinotti method for an enjoyable crispness, which suits the Chenin Blanc flavors whilst effecting a good minerality and body structure to the Chardonnay.
